Description
In Spring 2014 Chester Cathedral opened its tower tour attraction (also known as Cathedral At Height) for the first time in the building's history, allowing visitors to go up the tower and take in panoramic views of the city. The tour also includes exploring the bell ringing chamber, belfry and other galleries around the cathedral.
This new attraction gave me the opportunity to take a whole range of new photos, including tilt-shift, panoramas and HDR. Whilst on top of the tower I mainly focused on panoramas. On this particular day the weather was beautiful (hence why I decided to go up!). Needless to say, the views were spectacular!
As the title says, this panorama was taken looking towards the North. Although there doesn't seem to be much to see, the amazing thing is that on the horizon you can see both Liverpool Cathedrals. It's not very viewable on this photo however, but take a pair of binoculars or a camera with a decent zoom and you'll be able to see both cathedrals on a clear day.
The photo remains largely unaltered but I did apply a 'magic ocean' filter to give the sky a little more depth, along with boosting the shadows.
